New Cuban Tourism Packages for China

At an event organized with the Cuban embassy, representatives from more than 80 Chinese travel agencies and the media learned about the Authentic Cuba promotional campaign.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Tourism's representative in Beijing, Elizabeth Vela, the campaign aims to show the world the authentic way of life of the Cuban people.

This strategy is accompanied by the constant renovation, modernization and development of our hotels, added Vela.

In this regard, Cuba is making progress in the construction of new hotels in Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Coco and developing tourism in several northern virgin keys.

In the context of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba, the exhibition was also timely for presenting Havanatur in China.

Specialist Alexeis Torres, from the Havanatur S.A. explained some of the company's goals for this year to representatives from Venezuela and the ambassadors in Beijing of Suriname and the Bahamas, Mohamed Isaak Soerokarso and Elma Campbell, respectively.

Havanatur SA aims to develop multi-destination tourist operations from the Asian Pacific to Mexico-Cuba, especially from China, Torres said.

We want to increase the number of tourists travelling from China to Cuba, a figure that has increased but is still far from achieving its real potential, concluded Torres.
