Formato Roto Exhibition Opens in Havana Formato Roto, an exhibition by Cuban artist Diana Balboa, opened on Tuesday at Havana’s Pabellón Cuba and will run until July 30.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were Cuban Minister of Culture Abel Prieto, President of the Cuban Institute of Music Abel Acosta and Cuban singer-songwriter Sara González, as well as other personalities of the world of arts in Cuba.
Dedicated to music students and art lovers, the exhibition has the special feature of having been built with materials and objects that have an emotional value for the artist. For instance, it showcases the first wooden column of the Trocha hotel —a place that no longer exists and where Cuba’s National Hero José Martí lived— and a harp that belonged to Juan Formell, the director of the Cuban musical group Los Van Van.
After its debut in Havana, Formato Roto will be exhibited in the provinces of Villa Clara and Santiago de Cuba. |
