Havana to Host International Tourism Fair in May

At its traditional venue of the Cuban capital’s Morro-Cabaña Complex, the event will present the island’s offers to host tourist conventions; its high cultural, scientific and technical development; top level facilities for events, related hotels, and its high qualified staff in this field, according to the announcement made by Cuba’s Tourism Ministry.

FITCUBA 2010 will also show the opportunities the Caribbean nation offers to Russian tourism, which over the last few years has evidenced a constant increase and that today is among the first ten countries sending travellers to Cuba.

The most important event of the Cuban tourist industry will highlight the beautiful sights of the eastern side of the island, for which there will be special presentations and the launching of the catalogue “El Oriente Cubano” (Eastern Cuba).

Participants in the Fair will enjoy trips prepared to familiarize them with the eastern region, made up by the provinces of Camagüey, Las Tunas, Granma, Holguin, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo, and its main attractions.

The Fair, that will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, will bring together tour
operators, airline representatives, travel agencies, hotel chains, related associations and organizations and journalists from different countries.
