Echoes of a glorious caravan

It was a glorious and emotional day that of January 6th, 1959, when the Caravan of Freedom entered the territory of the former Las Villas with new lights.

A people full of reborn hopes cheered the combatants, but despite their bearded appearances, some were boys not over the 20 years old.

Now that Villa Clara remembers once again that glorious “Three Kings Day” that embraced the nascent Revolution, four witnesses of that moment, belonging to the Column Number 1 Jose Marti, brought their memories to the present.

The remembrances of Carlos Carballo Betancourt, Julio Lopez Granados, Rene Sanchez Castellanos and Amado Pena Toledano symbolize the echoes of a glorious caravan.
