Suspended the passenger transportation to and from Santa Clara

The Viajero Company, belonging to the Ministry of Transportation, announced on Wednesday the suspension of the passenger transportation to and from the city of Santa Clara.

According to the informative note, the company stated that taking into account the epidemiological situation in this territory, as of Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at 00:00, the transportation of passengers to and from the city of Santa Clara is suspended, including the services of the national buses and the railway transportation services.

It was also specified that the buses that cover the routes from Havana to Corralillo and from Havana to Caibarien will continue their journeys, and in the case of the latter, the busses will not enter the interprovincial terminal of the city of Santa Clara.

Regarding the railway services, train Number 1, covering the rout from Havana to Santiago de Cuba, on January 6th, 2021 with departure from the capital at 3:30 pm, and it will be the last with a stop in Santa Clara, so they must inform all passengers with reservation or the intention to travel to this destination on this new provision.

The Company highlighted that the Reservation Agencies in Santa Clara will be able to reimburse all the travelers the price of their reservation tickets for the affected days from January 7th to February 4th, 2021, at the 100% of the value of the tickets reserved for the different means of transportation.

Likewise, those travelers with a reservation will have until January 31st to manage their reimbursement, in the same way, the agencies of the different base business units (UEB), which have issued capacities per reservation with destination to Santa Clara, may make this reimbursement.

The reservation agencies throughout the country will not be able to make reservations for transportation destined for the city of Santa Clara, a process that also includes the ticket sales through the Traveling application. These indications will be in force until the situation of the territory can be normalized and they will come into force this Wednesday, January 6th, 2021.
