Ramiro Valdes assessed the investment projects and the prioritized programs in Villa Clara

The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes Menendez checked the investment projects undertaken in Villa Clara and other prioritized programs in the province.

In a visit to Villa Clara, the Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes Menendez checked the progress of the different programs and the progress of the productions in the industries of the province.

During the meeting, Dr. Jorge Luis Garcia Jacomino, professor at the UCLV presented a prototype of the Intelligent Surveyor Device (SPD). The mechanism is able to remotely collect the readings, in real time, thanks to the connection by Wi-Fi or GPRS.

Interested on its potential to measure water and fuel consumption, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba insisted on strengthening this project and expanding its profits.

Also, Valdes Menendez learned about the construction in the province of a low-carbon cement plant, developed from the experience of a similar one at the UCLV. Still in its project phase, the new plant will be able to produce 30 to 35 tons of cement daily.

About the Electrochemical Company of Sagua, the Deputy Prime Minister learned about the stabilization of its productions. After a difficult end of the 2019 and the beginning of the 2020 in the last seven days, the plant produced 15.86 tons of Chlorine, said Isel Perez Lopez, director of the institution.

Likewise, Valdes Menéndez urged to continue strengthening the ties between the UCLV and the local industries, in order to take advantage of the full potential and the wealth of knowledge of the university in pursuit of the country's development.

Accompanying the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes were the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its First Secretary in Villa Clara, Yudi Rodriguez Hernandez; and Alberto Lopez Diaz, Governor of the Province.
