Recognized the athletes from Villa Clara who participated at the Pan American of Lima

The Marta Abreu Chamber of La Caridad Theater of Santa Clara hosted on Friday morning, the ceremony of recognition of the athletes from Villa Clara who participated at the XVIII edition of the Pan American Games, held in Lima, Peru.

The event was chaired by Osnay Miguel Colina, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party in Villa Clara, and Alberto Lopez Diaz, President of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power, as well as officials of the Young Communist Union, and the Sports Directorate in the territory.

As a stimulus to the results achieved and, above all, to the athletes who won medals at the event, nine of them were awarded with a distinction that enhances the personal merits and the commitment to the people.

Within the list of these athletes appear the names of the canoeist Katerin Novo, who in her first continental games hung the gold medal, as did Reinier Cabrera, who achieved a silver medal in the same discipline, with only 17 years.

Completed the list of honorees: Marlon Yant, of volleyball, Jenifer Toledo, of handball, Arletys de la Caridad Acosta, of taekwondo, and the coaches Yoleisis Lois, of sports shooting, Carlos Gil, of gymnastics, and Jorge Coll, of handball.
