Three female athletes from Villa Clara will compete at Softball Pre-Olympic competition

The Cuban women's softball team, which will participate at the Softball Pre-Olympic competition, to be played in Canada, starting on August 25th, was officially presented by its director, Jorge Lamas, yesterday.

The Cubans will play in the difficult Group A, and will debut precisely before the locals on August 25th; while they will face the Bahamas, at five in the afternoon, the next day.

On August 27th, they will play against Argentina, while they will face Guatemala the next day. The qualifying phase against Puerto Rico will end on August 29th.

The first three places of this group will play at the Super Round, in which they will face the first three places of the Group B, composed by Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Peru and the British Virgin Islands.

On September 2nd, the medalists will be defined. This Canadian Pre-Olympic Competition awards two places for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
