Program of activities for the Day of Cuban Science begins in Villa Clara

The central activities in our country for the Day of the Cuban Science will begin this Monday, January 13th in Villa Clara, the national venue of the celebrations, said Dr. Maria del Carmen Velasco, delegate of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment in this territory.

In the afternoon of January 13th, the leaders of the branch and other guests will arrive. On the January 14th, there will be a Workshop on the contribution of science to the Life Task, where the monitoring works, and the Hazard, Vulnerability, and Risk Studies will be explained, while also distinguished personalities will be awarded in the afternoon.

Villa Clara has an Integrated Strategy of Science, Technology and Environment, and among the credentials to win the headquarters of the celebrations, the impulse to more than 800 projects, most of them associated to research, innovation and development in strategic sectors, such as the production of food, quality of life, environment, the use of renewable energy sources, as well as contributions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biomedical production, construction and construction materials, telecommunications, information technology and industry, and the local development projects implemented by the municipal governments, stood up.

The central ceremony will be held on January 15th, the day of Cuban science, 60 years after Fidel's historical phrase “the future of this country must necessarily be a future of men of science, of men of thought”.
