Diaz-Canel receives to his Eminence the Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York

The President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, received on Tuesday afternoon his Eminence the Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, who visits our country at the invitation of the Cuban President and the Conference of Catholics Bishops of Cuba.

This is His Eminence's first visit to the Island, where he has been welcomed with hospitality and respect. During his stay, he will exchange with the members of the Conference of Catholic Bishops and will visit several places associated with the activity of the Catholic Church and other places of interest. He will officiate several masses, among them, at the Minor Basilica of the Virgin of La Caridad del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba and at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Havana.

During the meeting, the Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn County, in New York, Octavio Cisneros; and the Bishop Emilio Aranguren Echevarria, President of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Cuba, were accompanying the Cardinal Dolan.

The Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parilla, also participated alongside the President of the Republic; as did Caridad Diego Bello, Head of the Office of the Attention to Religious Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
