Salvador Valdes Mesa received his counterpart from the Republic of Uganda

The Vice-President of the Republic of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, received on Monday the Vice-President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Mr. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, who makes an official visit to our country.

During the cordial meeting, both leaders discussed the good state of the bilateral relations while ratified the mutual will to strengthen them, in particular the cooperation in health and education. They also discussed topics of interest on the international agenda.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor were the Ministers of State for Education, Foreign Affairs, Minerals, Commerce and Veterans Affairs; John C. Muyingo, Henry Okello Oryem, Sarah Opendi Achieng, Michael Kafabusa Werikhe and Christopher Kibanzanga Mbalibula, respectively.

On the Cuban side were present Ydael Jesus Perez Brito, first deputy minister of the MINAG, Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, deputy minister of the MINREX; Marcia Cobas Ruiz, vice-minister of MINSAP; Miriam Alpizar Santana, vice-minister of the MONTH; Inalvis Bonachea Gonzalez, deputy minister of the MINCEX, and Gisela Garcia Rivera, director for the Sub-Saharan Africa at the MINREX.
