Several countries, including Cuba, have condemned the U.S. bombing of areas near Baghdad airport and the use of missiles for targeted assassinations, calling for efforts to ease tensions in the region.

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, who is visiting Argentina to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect Alberto Fernandez, paid tribute to the Argentine independence leader Jose de San Martin (1778-1850) on Monday.
