Santa Clara will celebrate its 331 years

Complying with the restrictions imposed by the post-COVID-19 recovery, the city of Santa Clara is preparing to celebrate its 331 years of existence.

According to what was expressed by Osmani García López, president of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, more than celebrations, the main actions will be devoted to transforming those community sites that today constitute sources of infection. This was the case recently in Estrada Palma and Roble streets, where spaces that were micro-landfills became plots to produce food. Similar tasks will be undertaken soon in the area of the highway to Maleza.

García López highlighted the participation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution and the Federation of Cuban Women in these tasks. Both organizations have planned separate volunteer works for the coming weekends with which they will also greet the Moncada anniversary.

As usual, the Diana Mambisa, the meeting with the Remedians, the tribute to the benefactor Marta Abreu, as well as the planting of tamarind number 331 is scheduled for July 15.

The activities include the delivery of distinctions at the City House and will culminate with the ceremony where the results of the City Foundation contest will be announced. The sanitary measures established as prevention of COVID-19 will be respected in each space.
