Poet from Villa Clara wins Nicolas Guillen National Poetry Prize

With the book “The Nature of the summer”, the Cuban poet Luis Manuel Perez Boitel won the 2020 Nicolas Guillen National Poetry Prize, an award granted by the Cuban Book Institute and the Cuban Letters publishing house. Resident in the city of Remedios, Perez Boitel is a laureate poet, who in 2002 won The House of the Americas Prize with the poem “The fall still belongs to us”.

Perez Boitel also won the 2007 Marius Sampere International Poetry Award of Barcelona, ​​Spain, and the 2013 Manuel Acuna International Poetry Prize of Mexico.
