Tribute to Silvio Rodriguez at the farewell of the 2020 Longina Festival

The last concert of the 2020 Longina Festival dressed itself in Cuban Trova last Sunday night on the boulevard of Santa Clara and, with the collective presentation of the youngest generation of singer-songwriters, honored the work of Silvio Rodriguez, one of the protagonists of the creative impulse of the 70´s decade of the last century.

The voices of Pedro O'Reilly, Amaury del Rio, Yeni Turino, Ernesto Gonzalez Choy, Yaily Orozco, Frank Michel Chirino, Ernesto Fabian, and Juan Pablo Palmero, in the company of the group Free Mode, sang Silvio´s themes.

As a graphic testimony of this moment, the audiovisual project “Between Hands”, directed by Juan Carlos Travieso, assumed the filming of the concert, which, like other performances of the program, had the blessing of the winter rain.

Thus, with the spontaneity of the cultural exchange, the five days of cult to the Cuban Trova concluded, while being its participants not only happy with their tribute to the legacy of the Cuban Trova, but also in their promotion of the intergenerational dialogue of the troubadours. Consecrated and novel artists turned the 2020 Longina Festival into a difficult event to ignore, even in a city with as much cultural hustle as Santa Clara.
