Beautiful beaches and rich biodiversity are among the incentives that attracted some 27,000 foreign visitors to Villa Clara, last January, 20 percent above the same month the previous year. The rise in the arrival corresponds to the growth pole Cayo santa María, where there are about three thousand rooms and untapped potential, told to AIN Jorge Luis Jimenez, commercial director of the Delegation of the Ministry of Tourism in the province.

Meant that the systematic increase in the receipt of other nationalities, is also in the improvement of air operations.

He added that in the current high season arrival of travelers to Cuba, the international airport Abel Santamaria, of this city, receives 46 flights weekly from visitors, mainly from Canada and Argentina.

Jesus Diaz-Canel, director of the National Tourist Information Office (INFOTUR) in the territory of Villa Clara, referred to the strong interest of tourists for the  northeast keys, where they feel predilection for maritime recreation offerings, the most commercialized.

He noted the arrival in this province some 176 thousand 800 people last year, 33 percent higher than in same period previous, contributing to the growth of the sector in the country.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics and Information, Cuba received more than two million 700 thousand tourists in 2011, for promotion than seven percent.
