The National Conference of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) expects to analyze the domestic situation of that political organization, assembling some 800,000 members, and involved in the updating of the economic model. Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Havana's Conference Center, the meeting will be attended by 811 delegates throughout the country. They will assess the work of the organization objectively and critically, media reported on Friday.

The participation of Cubans in the economic battle is the main task in the PCC political-ideological work, according to the agreements of the 6th Congress of the organization, held in April 2011.

The congress also reaffirmed PCC's orientations to maintain closer links with the grassroots to fulfill accords and resolutions, not only in social and economic aspects, but also in political and ideological issues.

The draft conference agenda, whose initial version was published in October 2011, was discussed in over 65,000 meetings of PCC and Young Communist League (UJC) groups.

During its analysis, over one million opinions were collected contributing to the modification of 78 of the 96 objectives of the document, and the inclusion of five new ones, the document states.

Also on the list is to train cadres, especially in economic matters, so they can play an active role in the implementation of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Draft Party Program, approved by the 6th Congress of the PCC.
