The 159th anniversary of the birth of Cuban national hero, Jose Marti, and the 131st anniversary of his arrival in these lands, tops the agenda for the Cuban Culture Week in Venezuela.

The festivities, to begin next Saturday with tributes to Marti and Simon Bolivar, are sponsored by the Embassy of Cuba in Venezuela, the Mayor´s Office of Caracas, the National Film Center, the Committee of Solidarity Venezuela-Cuba and the Association of Cuban residents.

As stated by Marlen Ruiz, cultural attaché of the Cuban embassy in Venezuela, the public can enjoy music, theater, Cuban films, exhibitions, concerts and books promoted by the Cultural Fund of ALBA.

Although this territory each year welcomes the Cuban Culture Week, this time activities will also expand to all regions, Ruiz said, and predicted a very dynamic day.

As a driving factor in these activities, the Corazon Adentro Cultural Mission, with four years experience in the land, bring talents that currently include 1,300 Cuban teachers accompanied by approximately an equal number of Venezuelan presenters, Alejandro Guma, National Coordinator of the Cuban social project, told Prensa Latina.

Juan Gonzalez Fiffe, Artistic Director of the mission, reported the various events to be held until January 28, with emphasis on the presentation of the Bolivarian Colmenita as a high quality performance with a great human value.
